Farooq Abdullah to Hurriyat: " Go ahead, we are with you"

On 5 Dec, Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and president of National conference (NC) Farooq Abdullah created controversy when he openly supported Hurriyat for "Azadi Movement". He was addressing the party workers at the mausoleum of Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah when he asked Hurriyat to get united.

He appealed Hurriyat to stay united " We'll never get free until we get united against India. I am asking my party to be part of this movement. We have fought JIHAD. We are part of you. Don't consider us as your opponent or enemies."

"The flames will never die. They (Indian Govt.) is not going to serve you anything. Continue this struggle."

He told Hurriyat leadership "Only you (Hurriyat) can lead this nation. Go ahead, we are with you."

Farooq Abdullah was Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir from 1982-1984. He became CM after his father's death, Sheikh Abdullah. Such statements in support of Hurriyat leaders who funds violence in Valley shows the support of NC leader to hurriyat. Hurriyat leaders collect 'Azadi funds' worth crores of rupees sent by Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin to fuel unrest in the Valley. In that NIA summoned Dr. Naeem Geelani, the son of Syed Geelani was issued notice to be present it their office for questioning on fund trails for disputes in Valley.

There would be no surprise If again disputes occur in Valley in coming days. Such statements are coming when Kashmir valley is unrest for last 4 months after the encounter of terrorist and Hizbul Commander Burhan Wani. About 100 have died in disputes and more than 3100 injured including 1500 security personnel. However violence have almost stopped in last few days especially after the demonetization of higher currency notes. Government must be prepared now before sleeper cell activates again.
